Juan Carlos VIllaveces Duran with his wife, Stefka, daughter, Cecilia Hortencia, and mother, Cecilia Villaveces bring a rich tradition of farming and cooking from Colombia, South America, to Athens. At Empanadas and Other Favorite Things we use fresh, organic, local market produce as the basis for our delicious empanadas (Spanish for "encased in bread"). Old traditional recipes like baklava, hamantaschen, samosas, spanakopetas, obleas, and tarts, find new distinct flavors and expression. Our menu is determined by what the farmers bring to the market.
